Unbelievable

So if you anything like me you are reading this but haven’t read my 1st two blogs. That’s ok but you will be extremely confused. Now if you have read my 1st two blogs you are probably saying to yourself…wait a minute this chick has almost died twice!

Well it’s true back to as I woke up in the hospital at age 14, all I wanted was something to eat. All they would feed me was jello. In come a team of nurses and drs rolling me onto my side, mind you I had had MRIs and CTs and bloodwork and so on and so on…so now here comes the spinal tap. Sounds awful and it probably would have been if I had any senses about me at the time. I remember having to lay on my side for a long time then flat on my back. Then like magic I was back to myself. They had relieved whatever pressure was on my brain and I was myself again! My dad walked in later that morning and was shocked! I spent 1 week in the hospital and 1 week at home then I was back at gymnastics practice.

Diagnosed with a pseudo tumor and on what seemed like a ton of medication, I had drs appointments once a months where they would do a spinal tap. This continues for about 4 months until my dad told the drs enough was enough and he wanted a referral to a larger children’s hospital. When the drs refused my father contacted the children’s hospital himself and made they appointments.

This started a new chapter of my journey…”it’s not a pseudo tumor…you’re daughter has had a stroke”
